Festivals and programs in Hungary in June and July

What to do in Budapest and Hungary in June and July? Here is a short list of the main festivals and programs of June and July:

24 June 2011: Night of the museums of Budapest With one armband you will be allowed access to all programmes offered by participating Budapest museums and other participating cultural institutions, as well as entry to permanent and temporary exhibitions. Furthermore, visitors with armbands are entitled to use the Museum Buses as well as the entire regular BKV public transportation network. Adult armband price: 1400 HUF (children: 600 HUF). In Budapest, the armband is valid on the day of the event, on 24 June 2011 between 6.00 p.m. and 25 June 2.30 a.m.
On 18 June there will be the same program in nationwide, not in Budapest.

28th June -2 July 2011 Volt Festival – Sopron

One of the most exciting multicultural festivals in Central Europe, expecting its guests in the middle of a fabulous forest every July. Four days long, visitors are welcome with 15 stages and approximately 200 programs: concerts, DJs, theater shows and performances.

2th July 2011 Balaton Cross Swimming – Révfülöp Distance:  5200 m
Registration:  Révfülöp, football ground when: 2nd July 2011., between 7.00-13.30
Compulsory medical examination  at the registration when: 2nd July 2011, between. 7.00-13.30
Start:  continuous (between 8.00-14.00)
Registration fee: -4500 Ft/person
The Balaton cross-swimming will be organized on Saturday, 2nd of July 2011. It is already a tradition to accomplish the distance of 5,2 km from the port of call of Révfülöp to the Platan beach establishment in Balatonboglár. Time of get away is between 8.00 am and 14.00 pm.

4th July – 10th July 2011 Rock Marathon Festival – Pécs

July 7th-10th 2011 Visegrad International Royal Palace Fair  Between 7-10th July, 2011 a glamorous celebration is to take place in the royal palace of Visegrád. The Hungarian king, Charles (Károly) welcomes the Czech king together with his son, the Moravian prince, the Polish king and their duellist valiants and fancy cortege. A myriad of Hungarian and foreign noblemen are to come as well to witness the royal meeting and jousting tournament. As the herolds have already announced long before, the most noble and courageous valiants are taking part in the tournament. Charles, (Károly) the brave and wise king of Hungary, and his amazing town, Visegrád, warmly welcome all those interested.

7th July – 10 July 2011 Balaton Sound Zamárdi
HEINEKEN BALATON SOUND FESTIVAL is to be held for the fifth time in 2011 at Hungary's fanciest beach, Zamárdi, along the shore of Lake Balaton.
